Hellocycle helps you take the hassle out of recycling ‘nonchuckable’ items. CFL’s, those curly light bulbs, have to be on the top of the list. They’re supposed to last forever but in reality they burn out frequently, and they contain a small amount of mercury and are illegal to dispose of in household trash. Yes, you can recycle them yourself – you don’t need us – and we encourage you to do so.
However, if you choose to work with us, we recycle them responsibly, and keep that mercury out of the landfill. This saves you the trouble of tracking down a suitable place to recycle them and dealing with going there. It costs us about 5 cents per bulb to do so.
